Tenor Ewandro Stenzowski is a constant presence on European stages.
His repertoire features roles such as Duca di Mantova in "Rigoletto", Rodolfo in "La Bohème", Lensky in "Eugene Onegin", Canio in "I Pagliacci", Gabrielle Adorno in "Simon Boccanegra", Cavaradossi in "Tosca", Nemorino in "L’elisir d’amore", Macduff in "Macbeth" among others.
He made his European debut in 2012 as Peter Quint and Prologue in "The Turn of the Screw" by Britten, was a fixed soloist at the Stuttgart Opera between 2012 and 2013, and debuted at the Detmold State Theater in 2014 as Stewa in "Jenufa," a role he also performed in Görlitz and at the Darmstadt Opera.
He has performed at the Maggio Musicale in Florence, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Zomeroper Alden Biesen in Belgium, Osnabrück, Riga, Massy, Winterthur, Freiburg, Kaiserslautern, Budapest, São Paulo Municipal Theater, and Rio de Janeiro Municipal Theater.
Ewandro has sung under the baton of conductors such as Giampaolo Bisanti, Isaac Karabtschevsky, Case Scaglione, Iván Anguelov, Sylvain Cambreling, Giuliano Carella, Will Homburg, Helmuth Rilling, Michael Schønwandt, Omer Meir Wellber, Federico Santi, Enrico Delamboye, and Cornelius Meister, and worked with directors like Peter Konwitschny, Yannis Kokkos, Georg Rootering, Graham Vick, Davide Livermore, Dirk Schmeding, Carla Camurati, Jussi Wieller, and Giancarlo del Monaco.
His concert repertoire includes works like Beethoven's 9th Symphony, Bruckner's Te Deum, Verdi's Requiem, Mozart's Requiem, Puccini's Messa di Gloria, Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle, Frank Martin's Et in Terra Pax, and Dvořák's Stabat Mater.
His future engagements include Erik in "The Flying Dutchman" in his first collaboration with the Teatro Regio di Torino, Mahler's "Das Lied von der Erde" in Stuttgart, as well as Wagner's "Das Rheingold" and Dvořák's "Rusalka" on his return to the Erfurt Opera in 2024.
Ewandro holds a Bachelor's degree in Singing from UFRJ and a Master's in Performance with an Advanced Studies Diploma from the Hochschule für Musik Stuttgart.
