Since his youth, Lucas Thomazinho has been following a remarkable path, becoming one of the main references among Brazilian pianists in the current musical scene.
In his extensive concert schedule, he performs both as a soloist with the most important orchestras in Brazil, such as OSESP, Minas Gerais Philharmonic, Bahia Symphony Orchestra - OSBA, Petrobras Symphony Orchestra (RJ), Amazonas Philharmonic Orchestra, and Porto Alegre Symphony Orchestra - OSPA, as well as a member of chamber music groups and in solo recitals, showcasing remarkable mastery of a wide range of concert repertoire.
He has shared the stage with conductors like Marin Alsop, Roberto Minczuk, Fabio Mechetti, Neil Thomson, Evandro Matté, Carlos Prazeres, Ligia Amadio and Marcelo de Jesus.
Lucas holds a bachelor's degree in piano from the University of São Paulo (USP), where he studied under the guidance of Eduardo Monteiro, and a master's degree in Performance Arts from the New England Conservatory (Boston, USA), where he studied with renowned pianists Wha Kyung Byun and Alessio Bax.
Contributing to the decentralization of concert music, he also performs in areas outside major urban centers. He was part of the 2022 Piano em Cena Series (Maringá/PR) and participated in music festivals in Penedo (AL), Gravatá (PE), Catanduva (SP), Piracicaba (SP), São João da Boa Vista (SP), Joinville (SC), among others.
Internationally, he has performed in concerts at Jordan Hall (USA), Conservatório de Coimbra (PT), Casa da Música (PT), Teatro Micaelense (PT), Cité Universitaire (FR), and Schloss Hallenburg (DEU).
He has received numerous awards in international and national piano performance competitions, including the Finalist Prize at the XIX Santander International Piano Competition (Spain), XVIII Santa Cecilia International Competition (Portugal), I Teresa Carreño International Piano Competition (Miami), PIANALE International Academy & Competition (Germany), BNDS Piano Competition (RJ), International Osvaldo Lacerda Piano Interpretation Competition (SP), among others.
His composition "Prelúdio," for solo piano, was nationally recognized by FUNARTE (RespirArte 2020 Award), and he also acted as a producer for its artistic and promotional video clip. He also served as an assistant producer for the project "O Piano Brasileiro," awarded in the Maringá cultural call "Em Casa com Arte 2nd ed.," under the artistic direction of Camila de Souza.
In addition to concerts and productions, Thomazinho has ongoing CD recording projects: Francisco Mignone's piano & violin sonatas, with Emmanuele Baldini, for the NAXOS label, and a complete recording of the piano works by the composer Dimitri Cervo from Rio Grande do Sul.
